Rip Curl Padang Padang On Standby

PADANG PADANG, Bali/Indonesia (Thursday, July 27, 2017) - The Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang is currently on standby this morning while event directors wait for the brunt of the anticipated SW swell to fill in throughout the day. Next competition call will be made at 2 PM local time for a potential 3 PM start for Round 1 of competition.

Sixteen of the best barrel riders in the world, including defending champion Mega Semadhi (IND), Clay Marzo (HAW), Bruce Irons (HAW), Ozzie Wright (AUS), Rizal Tanjung (IND), and two-time event champion Lee Wilson (IND), have gathered at Padang Padang and are prepared to battle it out.

If conditions improve on the afternoon low tide, the action will begin with non-elimination Round 1 (surfer heat totals from Rounds 1 & 2 will be combined to determine who advances to the semi-finals). Following are the opening Round 1 & 2 heat draw for the 2017 Rip Curl Cup:
